Natural weight loss is the loss of weight without pills, processed foods, or other junk. Let’s face it, we eat too much processed food. What are examples of processed foods that we commonly consume? Here’s a good one, sugar coated breakfast cereals. Who among you has not eaten cereal at one point or another? Cereal has lots of diet enemy #1, processed sugar. If you want to promote natural weight loss, then go back to nature. Go ahead and eat whole oats. You can add some sunflower seeds or almond slivers and some fruit, ideally like strawberries and blueberries.
What if you don’t want to eat oats for breakfast? If you are more of a protein person then there are natural, healthy alternatives. How about some grilled salmon? Salmon is high in protein and omega fatty acids, two things really necessary for good health. OK, not a fish person? How about some tasty egg white omelets? I personally like to add some onions and tomatoes and a dash of spinach to my omelets. How’s that for a tasty breakfast that will kick start your natural weight loss regimen? Let’s move on to lunch.
Lunchtime around the office was hard for me. Many of my colleagues were making bad food choices. Here’s some examples: pepperoni pizza dripping with oil, fast food bacon cheeseburgers, fried chicken, salads with tons of fatty dressing (they thought they were eating healthy), Chinese food laden with sugar, msg, and lots of fat (especially the egg rolls). These foods are everywhere. We are bombarded with advertisements on television, radio, billboards and magazines. We can’t get away from these ads. Natural weight loss comes from natural foods and good choices. Put down that burger and pick up a lean piece of chicken or turkey. Add some grilled vegetables and skip the soda. That’s what we mean by natural weight loss. Many delis now have salad bars which have healthy choices aplenty. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, bring your own.
After a hard day’s work, how can we not stop by our local pizzeria and get some baked ziti loaded with tasty cheese? Ahh, no, we need to keep our eye on the prize. Instead, stop by your local fish store and pick up a salmon fillet, or some scrod or tilapia. You can cook the fish with some frozen vegetables and you are way ahead. Keep making the right choices every day and the weight loss will follow.
Believe it or not, drinking lots of water helps your diet efforts more than you think. Did you know that the body makes you feel hunger even when you are just thirsty? Yes, it is true. Drinking eight 8oz. glasses of water each and every day will keep your body hydrated and you diet humming along. Remember, the body also needs water to flush out that fat that we are trying to lose!
Walking is the miracle exercise. Walking about a half an hour a day will help your diet tremendously. It does not matter what diet you are on. The reason we like walking is because anyone can do it and walking is not overly stressful on the body. Running and jogging when you are very overweight can be downright dangerous!
Get a good night's sleep. Yes, you heard me right, lack of sleep will kill any diet. Lack of sleep does many bad things, but when dieting, it affects your metabolism and also contributes to eroding your energy level and enthusiasm. So go get a good night's sleep, your body will thank you for it.
